The Pharaoh Akhenaten

The Egyptian Pharaoh Ahkenaten was one of the rulers of Egypt during the 18th dynasty (1543–1292 BC). He is perhaps best known to have been one of the first monotheists, rejecting the polytheism of the earlier Egyptian dynasties in favour of the worship of a single solar deity known as the Aten.

Akhenaten was the son of pharaoh Amenhotep III, and started his reign as the pharaoh Amenhotep IV, but later changed his name to Akhenaten to reflect his worshop of the Aten
